Stella Damasus-Aboderin (Stella Ojukwu) was born in Asaba, Delta State.
She grew up in Benin City, where she completed most of her primary education. Born into a family of six (five girls and one boy who is now late), Stella attended Greater Tomorrow Primary School and Idia College, both in Benin, Edo state.
She had her tertiary education at the University of Lagos where she studied Creative Arts and graduated in 2002.
This Nigerian actress met her late husband, Jaiye former son of late Chief Olu Aboderin, founder of The Punch Newspapers, at Jazzville Onike, Yaba, Lagos.
Their union lasted for seven years, which left her a widow. After four years, Stella on Friday, March 6, 2009, got married to Emeka Nzeribe, who hails from Oguta, Imo state.
Career Damasus-Aboderin first appeared in the Nigerian film "Abused" in 1992. She has starred in over 50 movies. In 2009, she was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the African Movie Academy Awards.
At a point in her career, Stella went into music, where she has recorded a staggering success.
Personal Life
Damasus' personal life has been marked by public scrutiny. She was previously married to filmmaker Daniel Ademinokan, with their union ending in 2020.
In a 2023 interview, Damasus claimed she learned about their divorce through a YouTube video, a statement Ademinokan later disputed, alleging that she had initiated the divorce proceedings.
