“Taribo, How Much Did You Give?”: Journalist Lists Individuals Who Contributed for Rufai’s Burial
- A Nigerian journalist has berated Super Eagles legend Taribo West and other ex-internationals for their passive role in the burial of Peter Rufai

Super Eagles legend Peter Rufai has been buried after a mass at the Catholic Church of Visitation in Lagos State on Friday morning, August 22.
Rufai died at 61 after a prolonged illness, and left football fans in tears as tributes poured in for him.
Popularly known as Dodo Mayana, he was a commanding figure between the posts and one of the shining stars of Nigeria’s golden football generation.

The Stationery Stores legend earned 65 caps for the Super Eagles and played a pivotal role in Nigeria's historic 1994 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) triumph, as well as their groundbreaking debut at the FIFA World Cup the same year, per BBC.
Enakhena lists the donors of Rufai's burial rites
Veteran sports journalist Godwin Enakhena has compiled the list of individuals who contributed to the burial rites of late Peter Rufai.
In a viral post on X, the former chairman of the defunct MFM FC said the Lagos State Government was the highest donor with ₦15 million, and other well-meaning Nigerians. He said:
"Once some people see those things (emotional videos), they become crazy.
"Lagos State Government, for instance, gave ₦15 million, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) donated the sum of ₦3 million, Yemi Idowu dropped ₦1 million, the Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission contributed ₦1 million, that is how much, ₦20 million.
"The Benue State FA Chairman dropped ₦1 million, while former Super Eagles star, Odion Ighalo gave ₦500,00. As of Monday, they have realised over ₦20 million.

How much did you give, Taribo?
Chairman of Sporting Lagos FC, Godwin Enakhena, has challenged ex-international Taribo West to mention the amount he contributed to the burial of late Peter Rufai.
The Director of Sports of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries said most of Rufai's teammates failed to make any financial contribution. He said:
"Taribo is not aware of all the contributions made by people. Taribo, how much did you give? How much did the ex-internationals give? The people you played together, how much did you give Dodomayana?"
Lagos Govt, NFF, Soname interested in Rufai's book launch
Godwin Enakhena informed the general public that a top official of Lagos State Government, the Nigeria Football Federation, and Nigerian businessman Kunle Soname have pledged to support late Peter Rufai's book launch.
The Head Of Service (HOS) to the Lagos State Government said that for the book launch, they are going to be heavily present. I spoke with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and they said we are fully backing the launch program because I told them that this book was very dear to Rufai's heart.
"They promised that after the burial, they will move on to the program, Kunle Soname said he is putting his weight behind," he added
Cause of Peter Rufai's death
Legit.ng earlier reported the cause of Peter Rufai's death, which threw Nigeria into mourning. Rufai’s health issues were not entirely without precedent.
Back in October 2012, he collapsed in his Lagos office and was hospitalised overnight, an incident many dismissed as fatigue at the time.
