Lookman to Atletico Madrid?
Atletico Madrid are aiming to land Ademola Lookman in Spain for the 2025/26 La Liga season.
According to Soccernet, the 27-year-old representative is currently in touch with Los Colchoneros, after they failed to agree last July.
Madrid were prepared to pay €30m, but Atalanta asked for €50m plus Samuel Lino.
The 2023 AFCON silver medallist was considered by Arsenal but the Gunners are not willing to sell Leandro Trossard.
Simeone interested in Gonzalez
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone is considering landing Juventus star Nicolas Gonzalez during the summer transfer.
According to Yahoo Sports, the La Liga giants plan to reinforce their attacking position despite securing Thiago Almada.
Nicolas Gonzalez could leave Juventus for a multi-million-pound offer, and Atlético de Madrid has him on their radar, per Mundo Deportivo.
Mardid fans react
Atletico Madrid fans have condemned manager Diego Simeone for trying to sign Juventus star ahead of Ademola Lookman.

"If this is true and Simeone prefers Nico González over Lookman, for me he has lost the little credibility he had left, I say this completely from the heart."

"Someone will want to have as many effective players as possible, even if Nahuel is one of them. Lookman is non-EU, if he comes, they can’t count on Nahuel and others, and costing 60 million, they wouldn’t bring another right-back. With Nico, they don’t have that problem. It’s different to choose between players than to choose between options."
@Juan_Aeg added:
"Now it's not a matter of football tastes, it's a matter of money. When Atleti wanted Lookman, he responded that only Inter. Atlético looked for an alternative (valid or not) and now they can't shell out 40 or 45 million for this player, a shame but Lookman took a gamble and failed."
@Alexan_ATM said:
"Putting Nico ahead of Lookman, I'm sorry but someone is laughing at us. Lookman on the right wing, and even though it's not his position, he outshines Nico by a thousand times, yet Simeone, how strange that he prefers an Argentine. Nothing new really, it shouldn't surprise anyone."
@dasauslo_ATM added:
"You close the doors on a player who was Atalanta's best in the Europa League final, the best African player, one of the best dribblers, for a player who hasn’t won anything, doesn’t improve DRIBBLING and GAME-CHANGING ability that is urgently needed, just because he’s Argentine? Don’t mess with me."
Lookman rejects Premier League move
Legit.ng earlier reported that Atalanta have been finding suitors abroad, including the Premier League, which the Super Eagles forward has rejected.
Lookman insists on sealing the move to Inter Milan, which he believes have made a decent offer of €42million plus €3million in add-ons.
