Just two weeks into his tenure at Goodison Park, he found himself in a situation that left a lasting impression. He said in the footage on X:
"Joseph Yobo, he's funny, mate. I'd been there for two weeks, and he asked me where I played. That was humbling.
"Yeah, I got to prove myself again. That was the first time I've ever been humbled."
Following the simple exchange, he admitted that it was a moment that made him realise his place in the team, meaning he has to work even harder.
Lescott's narrative continued, detailing how Yobo's question, "Where do you play?" prompted a deeper introspection. "Do you know what it means? It was so calm."
The pair went to partner in the heart of the defence before the Englishman departed in 2009; Yobo remained with the club until 2012.
