As noted by Football Insider, he put up a brilliant performance in defence playing at left-back, but his shift went under the radar because of his big shorts constantly going way below the belt line.

Fans questioned the defender about how he can play with such, which they deem uncomfortable to run around with for 90 minutes of action.

Marco Silva urged Bassey to improve

Fulham manager Marco Silva is a big fan of Bassey, describing him as a defender who ticks all the boxes and can play at the highest level, but he needs improvement in a key area.

“I know him very well. As I've said many times already since he joined us after a really difficult season at Ajax after the Rangers spell, we really believe in him,” he told Sky Sports.
"He has to improve his aerial duels, all the other things he has really. He's quick, strong... the duels - he has to be more concentrated and focused in all the moments of the game to make the other step.”

The Italy-born defender has been one of the Premier League’s best defenders since arriving in the league in 2023.
