According to Mirror UK, it was the Red Devils first loss to the Gunners at Old Trafford in 16 years, a record Amorim would want to forget quickly.
Arsenal fans admitted it was a poor performance from their players but will take solace in the three points as the begin another season to compete for the title.
Amorim reacts to Man United loss
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim applauds his players for their bravery and admitted that his team deserved a better result for their performance.
“I’m really proud of the guys. They were really brave in everything they did during the game. Congratulations for the performance but not the result because we lost the game at home. We deserved a better result,” he said as quoted by NBC Sports.
He analysed the performance and explained the difference in how the team displayed, compared to last season when he first took over.
“We were more aggressive than last year. We sprinted more. We were more brave. We went 1v1 all game. And then with the ball we had quality,” he said.
“When the stadium makes some sounds, we continued the play the way we play. We lost fewer balls in the buildup compared to last year.
He singled out two new signings Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha for praise, claiming that they are the type of players that can elevate the atmosphere in the stadium.

“And then the small things we talk about in the beginning of the season, players like Cunha and Bryan can elevate the stadium. I think the most important thing, we were not boring,” he concluded.
The performance gave the fans hope that they will have a better season after finishing 15th on the table and losing the UEFA Europa League final last season.
Their next league game is an away trip to the capital city to face Fulham at Craven Cottage before the Carabao Cup second-round match against Grimsby Town.
Arsenal will hope for a better performance when they host newly-promoted Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Amorim fires warning to Andre Onana
Legit.ng reported that Ruben Amorim warned Andre Onana after the goalkeeper was left out of the matchday squad for the opening day loss to Arsenal.
The Portuguese manager was diplomatic in his response, claiming he did not drop the Cameroonian shot stopper, but instead picked two other goalkeepers over him.
