Lookman’s social media move comes after La Dea rejected a second bid from Inter Milan worth €45 million, including add-ons for the Super Eagles forward, One Football reports.

According to Yahoo Sports, the 27-year-old has even replaced his profile picture, once showing him in an Atalanta shirt, with a solid black avatar, a clear sign of his frustration as the transfer deadlock drags on.

Atalanta stands firm on Lookman’s valuation

Inter Milan have been chasing Lookman throughout the summer, hoping to bolster their attack with the Nigerian winger who scored 52 goals and provided 25 assists in 118 games for Atalanta since joining from RB Leipzig in 2022.

Their first bid of €40 million was turned down, and their latest offer of €42 million plus €3 million in add-ons has also been rejected, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Knowing Lookman was instrumental in their Europa League-winning run in 2024 and remains one of the Serie A club’s most valuable assets, Atalanta are holding out for €50 million for the Nigerian forward.

Lookman, who has already agreed personal terms with Inter Milan, is growing increasingly frustrated with Atalanta’s refusal to sanction his exit, GOAL reports.

His agents have been pushing behind the scenes to make the transfer happen, but for now, Atalanta are standing firm.

Social media wipe sends a clear message

Lookman’s Instagram wipe and unfollowing of Atalanta is the latest sign of the player’s desire to leave Atalanta by all means this summer.

By removing all images of himself in the club’s colours and listing only the Super Eagles in his bio, Lookman has directly signalled his desire to force a move away from the Bergamo club.

Lookman’s decision to go public with his discontent comes just days after Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi admitted the player had “expressed his desire to leave for some time”, but noted that unexpected developments in the transfer market had delayed a potential sale.

With Inter Milan unlikely to give up and Lookman showing no sign of backing down, this transfer saga looks set to continue until either Atalanta lowers their €50 million asking price.
