Osimhen’s transfer ends a long-running saga that had seen him linked to Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United, as well as other top European clubs this summer, Soccernet reports.
Despite the attractiveness of the Premier League, no team in England could match Galatasaray’s financial package or the comfort the Nigerian striker felt in Turkey following his phenomenal loan spell in 2024.
Osimhen is now in the record books alongside fellow countryman Emmanuel Emenike, who also features in the Top 10 most expensive Süper Lig transfers, though Osimhen’s fee sets an entirely new benchmark.

When Galatasaray got Osimhen on an initial loan in September 2024, some fans were not convinced about whether the Nigerian forward could deliver in Turkish football.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a Turkish football commentator has disclosed the revenue Galatasaray generated from streaming Victor Osimhen’s flight from Germany to Istanbul on Wednesday evening.
The Turkish champions streamed Osimhen’s flight route from Germany to Istanbul exclusively on their GS Plus App and Galatasaray TV on YouTube, and the club generated about €431,000 from the service based on the data available for the first day, a significant fee in their bid to raise funds.
