After the game, Plumptre clarified that the said woman was not her biological mother but a passionate fan she had grown close to, The Cable reports.

The Nigerian international explained that she first met the woman and her two daughters during the 2022 WAFCON, where she gifted one of the daughters her jersey.

She added that seeing them in the stands at the 2024 WAFCON final reminded her of her own family, particularly her sister Bayleigh, despite no biological ties.

And now a photo has surfaced as her dad was also spotted along with the woman and her children.

njgoshi96, who shared the image on Instagram, added the caption:

"Her kindness and humility made her a champion WAY before winning this cup for Naija. What a joy it was to cheer her on again and hang out with 'our daughter.' Family means so much."
