Rasheedat Ajibade inspired the Super Falcons to claim their 10th WAFCON title in Morocco, after beating the Atlas Lionesses 3-2 in the final on Saturday night, July 26.

The former Nigeria U17 captain emerged as the Player of the Tournament for her explosive performance throughout the 13th Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

The 25-year-old scored Nigeria's first goal from the spot against Banyana Banyana of South Africa in the semifinal.

Ajibade won the Player of the Match award against Botswana, Zambia, and South Africa, scoring one goal throughout the campaign, per Premium Times.

It’s teamwork – Ajibade

Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has attributed the success recorded at the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) to teamwork.

In a post on X, the former FC Robo player said the entire team gave their best throughout the tournament, which resulted in the Super Falcons winning the trophy for the tenth time.

The 25-year-old mentioned that the players were ready to lay down their lives for the country on the pitch despite the distractions from their opponents, especially the host. She wrote:

“We did it! Mission X accomplished!
“Words can't fully express what this moment means. This isn't just our 10th WAFCON trophy, it's a testament to the relentless spirit of this team. Every tackle, every pass, every moment of pure grit on that field was for each other, for our country, and for every single one of you who believed in us.
“To my sisters, my teammates, I'm so incredibly proud of every one of you. We did it together against all odds. 😢”

The former Nigeria U20 star hailed the fans for their support during the 13th WAFCON.

The Player of the Tournament explained that their cheers went a long way in motivating them during the crucial period, per TVC. She said:

“To the fans: you are our 12th player. Your cheers from home and abroad echoed in our hearts and pushed us to the very end. Thank you for your unwavering support.”
