As noted by Transfermarkt, his impressive haul of 37 goals and eight assists prompted the Turkish club to go out of their way and sign him in a deal worth up to €80 million.
The deal will shatter the club's record signing fee of €18 million, paid for midfielder Gabriel Sara from Norwich City in the summer of 2024.

Osimhen has admitted that he supported a club while growing up but he would not say because he is a professional footballer, with transfer interest.

“There are so many big clubs that I admire, but I know one day I'm going to be there for sure, or soon enough. For me it doesn't really matter.”
The striker has been linked to Chelsea in previous windows, but did not join the club after they failed to agree on personal terms on the deadline day of 2024
Other Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool, have shown interest in him, but none have progressed with a deal.

“There are also other strikers like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robert Lewandowski, Luis Suarez, many of these amazing strikers, I still watch them on YouTube during my quiet moments or when I reminisce about my game and life.”
“I look at these people and see how they do one or two things, and I think this has really helped me so far in my career,” he concluded.
Osimhen has rubbed shoulders with all four strikers, excluding Luis Suarez, whom he did not play against, and particularly has a personal relationship with Drogba.
