The president announced a cash gift of ₦25 million for the men's team for winning the NPFL, and ₦10 million for finishing in the top four in the second season in the women's league.

He also awarded ₦5 million to the club's academy, Beyond Limits, for winning the second edition of the Gothia Cup in Sweden recently, while the supporters' club got ₦2 million.

Nigerian journalist and domestic football enthusiast Michael Adegbile applauded the gesture by the Remo Stars owner, adding that it would help the league retain its best players.

“One of the biggest problems of the Nigerian league has always been keeping the best legs, as every player with an averagely good season in the NPFL wants a move out of the country, even to lesser leagues with better living conditions,” he told Legit.ng.
