“So glad the dressing room allows her to be a mum and at the same time a D'Tigress player. Thanks to the teams and staff for not stigmatising a mother. God bless any society that treats mothers as queens. She who gives life should be cherished, loved and adored. Congrats!”

“How did she cope? Playing and training while nursing a baby? That is a legend right there, and Sarah Ogoke is her name!”

According to Punch, the legendary basketballer, who captained the team to victory in 2023, returned to the squad last month after missing the Paris 2024 Olympics due to pregnancy.

The 35-year-old Ogoke, who is also a medical doctor, was the only member of the squad to win all five consecutive AfroBasket titles, making an astonishing sacrifice to seal the historic feat.
