As the 2027 elections approach, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has reaffirmed its non-partisan position.
ACF stressed that while its members are free to hold personal political views, the Forum itself will not align with any political party.

ACF Chairman, Mamman Osuman (SAN), declared the Forum’s stance during its 78th National Executive Committee meeting in Kaduna on Thursday, August 21.
He emphasised that the organisation would continue to collaborate with groups pursuing similar objectives, Channels Television reported.
Osuman added that the Forum would not “sit on the fence or, like an ostrich, hide its head in the sand under the delusive pretext that it sees nothing,” but would remain united against political imperfections, greed, misgivings, and deceit.
ACF warns northerners to stay vigilant
The chairman urged northern leaders and citizens to remain vigilant and united amid rising insecurity, political treachery, and environmental disasters affecting the region.
He cautioned against complacency and misinformation among northern socio-political leadership.
“We have lost children, middle-aged men and women, and the elderly to natural causes, floods, drowning, and to evil criminals, psychopaths, gangsters, bandits, marauders, and terrorists. Our pains as a region are therefore a major concern to ACF, for which I ask for introspection and prayers,” Osuman said.
Concerns over northern marginalisation under Tinubu

In July, the ACF alleged that the northern region continues to be marginalised in federal budget allocations and infrastructure development under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, Vanguard reported.
Bashir Dalhatu, Chairman of the ACF Board of Trustees, said during a two-day interactive session on government-citizen engagement organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation in Kaduna, that the North has been sidelined in key policy decisions and project implementation, despite its strong support for Tinubu in the 2023 elections.
Dalhatu warned that the region must remain united to safeguard its interests and avoid political manipulation ahead of 2027.
2027: Wike mentions who he will support
Previously, Legit.ng reported that ahead of the 2027 election, Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has reaffirmed his resolve to support a presidential candidate who genuinely wants Nigeria to develop.
Wike, who made a guest appearance on Channels Television's 'Politics Today' programme on Tuesday, August 19, monitored by Legit.ng, maintained that no sentiment or emotion would determine his political stance.
