Olufemi Ajadi reveals where his loyalty lies

The former NNPP governorship candidate explained that his loyalty is first to himself and the people of Nigeria. He stressed that the former governor of Kano state remained a founding member of the NNPP and his political decisions are personal and strategic.

His statement reads:

"Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is a respected leader and founding figure in NNPP, but his political decisions are personal and strategic. For me, my loyalty is first to my conscience and to the Nigerian people, especially the youth and the masses who believe in my vision.
"If Senator Kwankwaso decides to move, I will carefully assess the reason, timing, and implications before making a decision. I am not a politician for personal gain—I am in politics for transformation. So, unless the movement aligns with the people’s interests, I won’t follow blindly."

Also, the APC national chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, recently commented on the rumour of Kwankwaso's defection, adding that the door of the party is open for the Kano-born politician, who gathered millions of votes to come fourth in the 2023 presidential election.

Yilwatda made the comment while speaking on Channels TV shortly after his emergence as the ruling party's national chairman on Thursday, July 24. During the interview, he was asked about Kwankwaso's possible interview. He said the doors of the APC are always open.

His response reads in part:

“Our doors are open. When everybody’s time is due, it will manifest itself, and that is also for everybody who has come back to the APC.”
