FCT, Abuja - Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, attended the public presentation of two books written about the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.

As reported by Nigerian Tribune on Wednesday, August 6, Obi's attendance of the 'PDP event' comes amid increasing speculation over the platform he will use to actualise his 2027 presidential ambition.

The two books, ‘Wadata Wonders: Memoirs of a Partisan Journalist’ and 'PDP and the Resilience of a Political Party', were authored by a prominent journalist, Ike Abonyi.

Guardian also noted the development.

The event, which was held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, witnessed the attendance of several PDP personalities and other politicians.

Findings, however, indicated that Obi’s presence at the launch of the books had no direct links with the speculated bid to rejoin the PDP.

Obi is a key member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition platform.

One source said:

“Peter Obi is a personal friend to Mr Abonyi, the author of the books. His coming to the public presentation of the books is more a way of honouring the author than anything else."

Legit.ng recalls that earlier, in June, 2025, Abonyi had launched a book he wrote on Obi himself, titled 'Obi, the Political Change Agent'.
