Former first lady of Ondo state, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has publicly declared her support for Peter Obi over his one four-year term promise.
Legit.ng recalls that the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Obi reiterated his vow to serve only one term of four years if elected President in the 2027 general elections.

Akedolu’s wife said one term is enough to start rewriting Nigeria’s story and laid the solid foundation.
She stated this via her X handle @DrIgoloAbiam on Monday, August 4, 2025.
Mrs Akeredolu linked Obi’s promise to what was done by Lee Kuan Yew in Singapore
“I believe you @PeterObi
“A purposeful leader can indeed transform a country within one term. Once a solid foundation is laid, successive administrations will likely continue on that trajectory, just as Singapore did by building on the blueprint of Lee Kuan Yew.”
She said Obi has the integrity and principle to move Nigeria from consumption-driven economy to production.
“A leader like Obi, governed by principle, integrity, and personal example, can compel a cultural shift. I believe him when he says one term is enough to start rewriting Nigeria’s story. His vision to move us from a consumption-driven economy to one that produces and prospers is exactly what we need to become the true giant of Africa, not just on paper, but in reality."

Not a complex nation like Nigeria. The foundation of this nation is faulty, that means he must overhaul the constitution and rewrite new constitution which I know it will not be possible because the Northern region will not accept that. You can't fixed Nigeria in 4 years

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo lambasted politicians who offer to serve for one term during election campaign.
The Anambra state governor said politicians who promise a single term need psychiatric examinations.
This came a month after the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, vowed to only serve for a single term.
