“Why North Should Support Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election Bid,” Gbajabiamila Speaks

Femi Gbajabiamila, the chief of staff to the president, has urged former legislators from the Northern region to back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign, stressing the need for unity, continuity and respect for political agreements.

Gbajabiamila made this call during the 2025 dialogue session of the northern caucus of the national forum of former legislators in Abuja, The Guardian reported.

Speaking at the event, Gbajabiamila described Tinubu as a “national leader who has carried every region along” and pointed to ongoing infrastructure and agricultural projects in the North as evidence of balanced governance.
“President Tinubu is not just a Southern leader; he is a national leader who has carried every region along. From critical infrastructure to policy reforms, the North is benefiting from a government that believes in equity and shared prosperity,” Gbajabiamila said.

Omokri to north: "Tinubu deserves 2nd term"
Similarly, Legit.ng previously reported that a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, urged the northern elites to allow President Tinubu to complete his eight years (two-term) in office for the unity and stability of Nigeria.
Ahead of the 2027 elections, Omokri reminded the north, whom he described as Mutanen Arewa, of how they ganged up and denied the then-president Goodluck Jonathan a second term in 2015, which affected the foundation of Nigeria's unity.

"In the interest of Nigeria's unity and stability, arewa should allow President Tinubu complete his two four year terms," Omokri said.

Tinubu celebrates Sanwo-Olu, Gbajabiamila, on birthday
In another development, Legit.ng reported that President Tinubu celebrated Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his chief of staff, Olufemi Hakeem Gbajabiamila, on the occasion of their birthday on June 25.
President Tinubu encouraged Gbajabiamila to continue supporting him in implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda to create a better and more prosperous Nigeria.
Tinubu also hailed Sanwo-Olu's giant strides and commitment to the growth and development of Lagos state.
