Why ADC suspended Leke Abejide?

In the letter, the federal lawmaker was accused of engaging in anti-party activities and gross insubordination, and such were the reasons for his suspension from the ADC. He was alleged to have met some members of the party in Abuja without getting clearance from the Kogi ADC leadership.

However, Vanguard reported that Adaji declined to sign the purported suspension letter. He explained that it was worrisome that he was said to have signed the letter. ‎He emphasised that nothing of such happened, dismissed and declared the suspension ad null and void.

He added that the suspension was not in compliance with the Constitution and the rules governing the party. He also disclosed that there was no state meeting where the decision to suspend Abejide was taken.

According to Adaji, suspension of any member can only be taken at the Ward level to the local government before getting to the State Working Committee (SWC), where it would be assented to.

Coalition adopts ADC as its political platform

This came amid the adoption of the ADC as the political party of the coalition. During the adoption of the party, the party's national leadership reportedly stepped down for the coalition to appoint new interim executives for the party. During the time, former Senate President David Mark, former Osun governor Rauf Aregbesola and former minister Bolaji Abdullahi served as the national chairman, secretary and publicity secretary.

With the adoption of the party, Abejide, who remained the only federal lawmaker of the ADC, criticised the development, claiming that the party stakeholders were not all carried along.

Primate Ayodele speaks on ADC presidential candidate

Legit.ng earlier reported that Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers state and ex-Minister of Transportation under late Muhammadu Buhari, has been urged to drop his presidential ambition.

Primate Elijah Ayodele, a spiritual leader known for consistent political prophecies, gave the warning, adding that Amaechi is just like Peter Obi, who will not also be president in 2027.

Recall that Amaechi and Obi have been associated with the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar-led coalition, which recently adopted the ADC, and the trio have declared interest in the party's presidential ticket.
