Atiku, Amaechi or Obi: Primate Ayodele Mentions ADC Aspirant Who Will Not Be President
- Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers state and ex-Minister of Transportation under late Muhammadu Buhari, has been urged to drop his presidential ambition
- Primate Elijah Ayodele, a spiritual leader known for consistent political prophecies, gave the warning, adding that Amaechi is just like Peter Obi, who will not also be president in 2027
- Recall that Amaechi and Obi have been associated with the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar-led coalition, which recently adopted the ADC, and the trio have declared interest in the party's presidential ticket
Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical spiritual church has taken a swipe against Rotimi Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers state and ex-Minister of Transportation under the immediate past administration of late Muhammadu Buhari, that he cannot be president.
The cleric, in his latest series of prophecy, said Amaechi was just like Peter Obi, a Labour Party 2023 presidential candidate, who has associated himself with the coalition movement, just like Amaechi. Ayodele said Obi would not be the Nigerian president in the 2027 election.

Ayodele also knocked Obi for taking most of his charity gestures to the northern part of the country in order to get their support in the 2027 election, alleging that the north would not vote for him because the region wanted a Muslim president.

ADC: How the coalition started
Recall that the coalition, which was started by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has gained support and alignment from major opposition leaders, including Amaechi and Obi. The coalition recently adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its political platform ahead of the 2027 election.
Following the adoption, former Senate President David Mark and ex-Osun governor and former protege of President Bola Tinubu, Rauf Aregbesola, were appointed as the ADC's interim national chairman and secretary.
Since then, the ADC has positioned itself as the major opposition in Nigeria, urging Nigerians to see it as the alternative party to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. The party has consistently criticised the APC since it was adopted by the coalition.

Atiku, Obi, Amaechi to contest ADC ticket
However, both Atiku, Obi and Amaechi have expressed interest in the ADC's presidential ticket. While Amaechi and Obi have vowed to be one-term presidents if they get the ticket and advocated that the party's presidential candidate should come from the southern bloc, Atiku has not backed down in his presidential bid.
Meanwhile, Titilope Anifowoshe, a legal practitioner, in an exclusive interview with Legit.ng, said that the coalition presidential candidate should be someone beyond personality and political arithmetic. She said:
"Beyond personality, what Nigeria needs is a coalition based on shared vision, not just electoral arithmetic. The ideal candidate should combine competence with character, youth appeal with regional balance, and reform-mindedness with political maturity. Nigeria's future shouldn't be mortgaged to name recognition alone."

ADC cautioned over criticism of Buhari's burial
Legit.ng earlier reported that the coalition party, ADC, has been cautioned against playing politics beyond national emotions, citing its statement on former President Muhammadu Buhari's burial.
Titilope Anifowoshe, a legal practitioner, gave the warning in an exclusive interview with Legit.ng, following ADC's criticism of President Bola Tinubu's attendance at Buhari's burial.
The ADC had earlier alleged that the president was using Buhari's burial to whitewash himself and seek the emotional support of the electorate.
