Saraki speaks on coalition and ADC
Speaking on the new coalition bride, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which included old members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), PDP, the Labour Party and others, Saraki clarified that he never asked anyone to join the party.
Vanguard reported that the former governor of Kwara state also told the PDP stakeholders about the outcome of the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting and the plan ahead of the national convention. He urged members to stay in the PDP.
Saraki's clarification came after several members and political office holders under the PDP dumped the party for the APC. The leading opposition has lost prominent members to the APC and the ADC recently. Two of its governors have joined the ruling APC, namely Sheriff Oborevwori and Umo Eno of Delta and Akwa Ibom states.

Also, many political actors, particularly in the opposition parties, are aligning with the ADC, including the immediate past governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, among several others. The ADC was recently endorsed by the coalition, which was earlier championed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku started by the opposition leaders to come together under one umbrella to defeat President Tinubu in the 2027 election. He had been joined by Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rotimi Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers.
Interestingly, Atiku, Amaechi, and Obi have announced their interest in contesting for the 2027 presidential election under the ADC. Several political pundits are of the view that Atiku is likely to emerge as the party's presidential candidate in the next general election. It has also been projected that the ambition of Atiku, Obi and Amaechi could ruin the coalition.
