Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state has said that it would be difficult for any Nigerian governor to go against the second-term ambition in the 2027 election.
The governor made this known while speaking at the two-day interactive session on engagement of government-citizen, an event which was organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF) at the Arewa House in Kaduna.

Governor Sani said that:
"No president in Nigeria’s history has supported governors and sub-national governments the way President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently doing.”
The governor further said that "it is unlikely that any governor in Nigeria would go against the president.”
How Tinubu is addressing northern challenges
According to Sani, the President Tinubu administration has been talking to non-state actors to address the progress and assess the situation in the northern part of the country. He added that the approach is unprecedented in how national issues are being addressed.
President Tinubu was represented at the event by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq of Kwara and the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.
The SABMF is a non-religious and non-political organisation, which was founded in 2009 in honour of the legacies of Sir Ahmadu Bello, the late premier of northern Nigeria.
Politicians making permutations ahead of 2027 elections
Governor Sani's comment came at the time of alignment and realignment among politicians in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party and others. This came after several members and political office holders under the PDP dumped the party for the APC.

Also, many political actors, particularly in the opposition parties, are aligning with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a party which was recently endorsed by the coalition, which was earlier championed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku started by the opposition leaders to come together under one umbrella to defeat President Tinubu in the 2027 election. He had been joined by Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rotimi Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers.
Interestingly, Atiku, Amaechi, and Obi have announced their interest in contesting for the 2027 presidential election under the ADC. Several political pundits are of the view that Atiku is likely to emerge as the party's presidential candidate in the next general election.
Former PDP governor endorses Tinubu
Legit.ng earlier reported that former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has announced his endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office.
The PDP chieftain, at the same time, declared Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the APC as his preferred candidate for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti.
Fayose had stormed the APC rally with his branded PDP cap, adding that he remained a member of the PDP and would not dump the party for the APC.
