PDP warns ADC spokesman

In a trending interview, Abdullahi dismissed concerns about high-profile personalities within the ADC coalition vying for leadership, including Peter Obi, Nasir El-Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi, and Atiku Abubakar.

Addressing questions about ADC’s lack of physical infrastructure compared to the established PDP and APC, Abdullahi argued that electoral strength now lies in grassroots mobilisation, not just brick-and-mortar offices.

But reacting on Tuesday, July 29, the PDP, in a statement signed by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, national publicity secretary, chided ADC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi.

Ologunagba said it was reckless and revealing for Abdullahi to use the platform of the ADC to attack PDP, instead of addressing serious national issues.

"This unwarranted resort by Bolaji Abdullahi, an individual known for his roles as chief image maker and defender of the lying, deceitful, corrupt and failed All Progressives Congress (APC), to use the platform of the ADC to attack the PDP instead of addressing serious national issues is not only reckless but also revealing," Ologunagba said.

PDP vows to defeat Tinubu in 2027

Speaking further, despite high-profile defections, the PDP maintained that it remained the leading opposition party in Nigeria and has all it takes to wrestle power with the ruling APC and unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

"In any case the PDP, as the leading opposition Party, commanding the respect, loyalty and solidarity of overwhelming majority of Nigerians across the country and which is also the broad-based platform driving the aspiration of Nigerians to oust the APC in 2027 will not descend to join issues with the ADC or any other opposition Party in the country for that matter.
"Moreover, it is instructive to state that the PDP, as presently constituted has more than enough presidential personalities with clear records of achievement and capacity to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at any time."
