2027 election: Ayodele plays down Obi's chances

Primate Ayodele said:

“Peter Obi is not ready to do second fiddle. And these are the crises the African Democratic Congress (ADC) would be having.
“Peter Obi cannot win. If Obi becomes the president, Nigeria is in trouble. Obi is a pretender. That is the way I see it in the spirit realm. His presidency would herald hunger.
“Obi is not the answer or solution to Nigeria; he is a pretender."

Ayodele speaks on ADC coalition

On the ADC coalition platform, which top opposition figures have adopted, the outspoken cleric warned President Bola Tinubu to be vigilant.

According to Primate Ayodele, the ADC platform has the capacity to build something strong in the 2027 election.

He said:

“Don’t think that ADC are playing. They are not playing. Five things Tinubu can use to destroy them, I will only say two. If Tinubu knows a good prayer warrior, send thunder to destroy them.

'Coalition needs Peter Obi'

Meanwhile, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Grema Kyari, said the coalition needs politicians of Obi's stature.

He told Legit.ng:

"There’s a good chance that the coalition can remove an underperforming government, but this must be predicated on certain factors. The coalition needs a candidate who has momentum, public appeal, and an organic following.
"Peter Obi has proven, without a doubt, from the numbers he amassed in the 2023 elections, that the people are invested in him."

Ayodele's warning to APC over chairman

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Ayodele claimed that the newly-elected national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, lacks what it takes to convincingly give the party victory in the 2027 election.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, and made available to Legit.ng, Primate Ayodele claimed that the aura of victory around Prof. Yilwatda is tricky.

The preacher stated that except there is a very strong committee to support the new APC leader, Professor Yilwatda would not be able to steer the party to victory in 2027.
