Ibom Air: Businesswoman Suggests 2 Things Airline Should Do for Comfort Emmanson after FG's Actions

  • A businesswoman has reacted to the federal government's decision to withdraw the criminal complaint against Comfort Emmanson
  • The perfume vendor stated that it was not enough to lift the no-fly ban imposed on Comfort and release her from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, where she was remanded
  • She reminded people that Comfort's video, in which her chest area was exposed, is still in circulation and suggested two steps that Ibom Air should take to remedy the situation

The federal government's decision to withdraw the criminal complaint and push for the release of Comfort Emmanson, the embattled Ibom Air passenger, has been met with mixed feelings on social media.

Reacting to the new development, a businesswoman, Lolo Nneka Obani, said it was not enough to remedy the situation, as she claimed that Comfort was a victim of Ibom Air's negligence and abuse and deserved to be heavily compensated.

Nneka, in a Facebook post, Comfort has become a subject of ridicule because the video, in which her chest area was exposed, is still in circulation and is being used by perverts.

She pinned the blame for the video on the air hostess, who she accused of deliberately pulling up Comfort's top while the passenger was dragged off the aircraft like a common criminal.

"...This was the same aircraft from which she had politely requested to exit peacefully. Instead of granting her that simple request, a high-handed air hostess blocked her way, effectively taking her hostage on an aircraft that had already landed.
"What is even more troubling is the selective recording. The public has only been shown her reaction, nothing of what led to it. The real events, the provocation, the humiliation, all of these remain hidden. The goal was clear, to present her as a mentally unstable drug addict attacking and fighting everyone in sight..." Nneka lamented.

The perfume vendor said that the airline still has work to do to remedy the situation. First, she suggested that Ibom Air identify the crew members who harassed Comfort and make them face the full weight of the law.

She also suggested that Ibom Air pay Comfort a substantial amount of money as compensation for the irreparable damage caused to her. In her words:

"...Ibom Air, this injustice, this humiliation, this assault, and this intimidation will not go unpunished. You must identify and produce the crew members who harassed this young woman, and they must face the full weight of the law. Furthermore, you must pay Miss Comfort substantial compensation for the irreparable damage you have caused to her dignity, privacy, and future.
"Let this be a lesson, professionalism cannot be replaced with nepotism or favoritism. Employing people solely because they are from your community or related to you will only lead to disasters like this. The air hostesses involved are not professionals and they must be held accountable."
