A young Nigerian lady, Temmy, has recounted how her Igbo boyfriend dumped her, despite financing his education.

Temmy, a 24-year-old who sells slippers under the Oshodi bridge in Lagos, said she was warned against her then-boyfriend, but she did not heed the warnings.

Temmy, who spoke in Pidgin English, shared her relationship story during a street interview, which was shared on TikTok by @ekaftv.

“I sell market in Oshodi under bridge, I’m from Ikorodu. I’m not a trenches babe. There was a time I was dating a boy in Ikorodu, he left me to wed another woman. I gave him money, I paid his school fees. I was warned, but I didn’t tell all my friends. I was heartbroken and moved on, and I came to Oshodi to sell goods.

She said her bad relationship experience made her detest Igbo people. While closing the door on loving any guy again, she said she was open to marriage.

“...I know when I’m ready, a good man will come. Any man that wants to marry me now must take me away from Oshodi, rent a shop for me. If the guy fit do that kind thing, I fit marry am. My parents are dead..."
