However, after she left, Olubunmi said another air hostess came to Comfort and spoke harshly to her.
She said that Comfort explained that the button on her iPhone was not functioning, hence, she could not turn it off.
The unidentified hostess replied Comfort that her phone does not need a button to be turned off and further advised her to check her settings.
When Comfort replied that she could not do it herself as she was illiterate, the air hostess refused to touch her phone and threatened to kick the passenger off the flight. Olubunmi's account read:
"Funny enough, I was on this flight and this babe sat right next to me across the aisle. We were on the emergency row.

"After she left, one other witch of a air hostess came and really spoke down on this girl. The girl told her the button on her phone for switch off was not working.
"The woman replied that it is an iPhone and does not need a button. The girl said she does not know how to do it. The woman told her to go to settings etc etc.

She continued:
"At that point, the guy sitting next to her and myself and the guy next to me had to intervene and the guy next to her took her phones to help her. The woman then started threatening her to kick her off the flight etc.
"At this point, other passengers not knowing the truth of what happened started shouting at the girl, then we the other seat mates had to defend her that the air hostess treated her so badly bcos she was female. It wldnt hv bin the case if it was a male passenger. Then everything calmed down and we left.
"It was at that point that the girl, having been humiliated, started abusing other passengers. We wey defend her com dey shame. Nobody answered her sha, and I calmed her down but throughout the flight she was talking on the matter with the guy right next to her.
"When we landed and were deplaning, she quickly went to toilet and didn't come out till we all got odd the plane and left. I suspected she was up to something. Seeing this video now confirms my suspicions."

Passenger’s assault, crew’s approach faulted
In response to the viral Ibom Air incident involving a passenger’s physical outburst, Mary Oke, NCAA-licensed cabin crew member trained in hospitality and customer service, offered a measured perspective on the matter.
Speaking with Legit.ng she noted that neither the crew confronting the passenger nor the passenger's physical retaliation was acceptable:
“It's obvious both parties involved are wrong. As a trained and licensed cabin crew, on no occasion should you confront your passenger. And she (passenger) was also wrong for going physical.”
In a related story, Legit.ng reported that a man who was on the same Ibom Air plane with the remanded passenger, Comfort Emmanson, had narrated what happened.
