WAEC 2025: Boy Weeps after Seeing His Results for Maths and English, Begs People to Check on Him

A boy, Edisemi Kenneth, was shattered after seeing his WASSCE result and went public with what he saw.

He shared a video of himself shedding tears over the outcome of his exam.

Kenneth said he failed his mathematics and English, but expressed belief that things would be fine for him.

"I don't know what is happening but I know it'll be fine," he wrote on TikTok.

In a previous post where Kenneth displayed his WASSCE result, he lamented his scores in Literature-in-English, government, English and mathematics.

He appealed to people to check on him, saying he is not okay. He wrote:

From the result he made public, Kenneth had a B2 in marketing, B3 in Christian religious studies and history, a C4 in economics, C6 in government, Literature-in-English, and civic education.

He also had an E8 in English language and an F9 in general mathematics.

WAEC admits technical glitch

Days after the council released students' results, with many scoring low in English language, it released a statement.

It partly read:

"The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) sincerely regrets to inform the general public of technical issues discovered during the internal review of the recently released results of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates, (SC) 2025.

As part of our efforts to curb examination malpractice, the Council embarked on an innovation (paper serialization) already deployed by a national examination body. It is also worth noting that this is in line with best practices in assessment. The paper serialization was carried out in Mathematics, English Language, Biology and Economics. However, an internal post result release procedure revealed some technical bugs in the results...."

Dad weeps after seeing daughters' WAEC results

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a dad had shed tears after seeing his daughters' WAEC results.

A young man who checked the results pranked the dad, saying his daughters, Mmesoma and Chidera, had D7 in Physics and had Bs and Cs.

The dad, the girls and the prankster screamed for joy as they all checked the results on a laptop and confirmed the girls passed with flying colours, scoring As and Bs. From jubilating, he broke down in tears in a video.
