A Nigerian X user has mourned the death of a young dried fish seller, Ifesinachi Onyekesi, also known as Fish Magnet.

Punch reported that some assailants abducted Fish Magnet after invading his residence in Ezinifite community, Okpuno, Awka South LGA of Anambra State in a late-night attack and whisked him away in his car.

The body of the young man, son of an All Progressives Grand Alliance chieftain in the state, was found by the roadside after a ransom had been reportedly paid.

Man shares last chat with food magnet

On his X page, @Chetexxx5 said he had known Fish Magnet since the businessman was 15 years old.

He stated that Fish Magnet was built differently and would always drive him around Awka whenever he visited.

The man then shared a screenshot of their last WhatsApp chat, where he celebrated Fish Magnet on his birthday.

His X post read:

“I hear bloggers say he offended people because his fishes are cheap, i kid you not, it's not for clout or popularity, this boy was built different, like I knew Sinach from when he was 15, so ambitious, smart, ingenious, loving and generous soul that could give his eyes.
“He is my transport system whenever u visit Awka, he drives me round town with his Sienna and drops me without complain, as an only son, I inspire him a lot, like this was my last message on the 6th which was his birthday. . .Oh! Lord my God. RIP Fish magnet.”

Aside from the X user, another businessman on Facebook, Udegbunam Charles Ifeanyi, also mourned the fish farmer and shared what Fish Magnet owed him before his death.

On his Facebook page, Ifeanyi, who was also into fish farming, said he met the late entrepreneur in 2015 and described him as a jolly good fellow.

He said in part:

"Our path crossed in 2015 as Provisions Sellers at Eke Awka market before we later entered into Fish Farming and till your death we were sharing ideals, funds and way forward to better our lives and dat of our family. My mum has cried, prayed and caused your [assailants] and I believe they will not have rest in dis life and their next life."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng also previously reported that a lady, George Esther Chinonye, who had patronised the late businessman before his death, shared what she had observed about his business on Facebook.
