Soma Adaugo Tryphaena Wokemba set out to study law, knowing well that her family has a tradition of service and excellence in the legal profession. She had that at the back of her mind when she enrolled for a degree in law at the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola, Adamawa state.

Both Soma's grandmother and mother are lawyers, and this gave her the challenge of maintaining the family's legacy.

Though she said her mother and grandmother would have supported her if she chose to study another course, the fact that she chose law led her to be inducted into the family's legacy of producing lawyers.

During the 2025 call to the bar, Soma was one of the newly inducted lawyers who trended on social media.

She told Legit.ng in an interview that she feels fulfilled.

Her words:

"It feels deeply fulfilling to be a part of a four-generation legacy. There is something powerful about knowing I am not just pursuing my own career, but continuing something much larger than myself- a family tradition of service and advocacy.
