"I Deleted Many Contacts": Lady Overseas Reacts Emotionally to Fish Magnet's Death, Advises Vendors

A jewellery seller in the diaspora, known on TikTok as @abebiogejewelry, has expressed sadness about the tragic demise of Fish Magnet, real name Ifesinachi Onyekere, who was found dead on Sunday, July 27.

In a video, the lady said she learnt about his demise after seeing Verydarkman's video and was touched when she checked out the late fish seller's page.

She said Fish Magnet was a very hardworking guy and knew his onions, from what she saw on his page.

"...A very hardworking guy with passion for what he does. He knows what he is doing. He is good in this game..." she said.

While mourning his loss, the lady, who spoke in Yoruba and English, noted that his death was a wake-up call to other vendors to mind the kind of phone numbers they save and allow to view their status on WhatsApp.

She said it is not everyone who should see one's WhatsApp status, adding that she had to delete many contacts after Fish Magnet's death. She cautioned vendors to be careful.

She claimed some people are not happy with people's progress, and Fish Magnet's death was a sad case in point.

"As a business owner, we need to be very careful. A lot of people are watching how we struggle, how we are putting our brand out there. They are not happy with our growth.

"They knew when we started from nothing...When it starts paying off, people become angry."

She added that vendors should minimise updating their progress online.

Journalist shares last interaction with Fish Magnet

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a journalist who recently spoke with Fish Magnet before his death disclosed what he told the young man to stop making public in his videos.

He said the businessman appreciated his advice and promised to stop displaying this so openly. He added that he bought fish from the deceased and directed him to keep some of them, as he would need them for his mother.

The journalist also wondered what Fish Magnet's crime was, and noted that he wanted to call him some days ago. He also openly wondered if it had become a crime to earn a living legitimately in Nigeria.
