2. The young man was the CEO of Fish Magnet outlet, a business in Anambra that raises and sells fish.

4. His mother, Esther Chinyere (Adaejiejemba), is the women's leader of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra state.

Anambra police commences investigation

In a press release on Wednesday, the Anambra Police Command stated that Fish Magnet was killed on July 27 in the Okpuno area of Awka, the state capital, as per The Whistler report.

According to the police, Fish Magnet was ambushed at his residence in Ezinifite village and shot in the leg before being forcibly taken away by the assailants. The police described the incident as a targeted attack.

A part of the police statement read:

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the attackers had trailed the victim before striking.
“His navy blue Toyota Corolla was recovered by a joint team of police officers and Anambra Vigilante Operatives along the Ukwulu/Igbariam road, suggesting a planned getaway route."

In an exclusive chat with Legit.ng, the police public relations officer for Anambra state, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that the police have initiated surveillance measures to locate the individuals responsible for the murder of Fish Magnet.

Lady details Fish Magnet's kidnap

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a lady close to Fish Magnet had narrated how he was reportedly rushed to the hospital after he was found in a critical condition on a Monday morning, days after he was kidnapped.

She recounted her last interaction with the deceased, who was found dead days after he was kidnapped from his residence. She stated that Fish Magnet called her on the phone on Saturday, July 26, and they spoke until 9:00pm, unknown to her that it would be the last time they would speak. She claimed he was shot and kidnapped the following day. Her narration partly read:

"Now they didn’t just shot you but carried you away…. Mumsi and Chebe kept calling till 11pm ..when they requested for 10 million naira…and should be submitted in 20 minutes….Before 12pm on Sunday, Mumsi had gathered the money and sent to them…now they called and called and called…this guys didn’t pick till 4am on Monday morning…"
