Man Releases His Last Chat With Fish Magnet Before His Tragic Death: “Why Are You People Like This?”

A Nigerian man has mourned the death of a young dried fish seller, Ifesinachi Onyekesi, also known as Fish Magnet.

The Punch reported that the businessman was abducted from his residence in Ezinifite community, Okpuno, Awka South LGA of Anambra State on July 26 and whisked away in his car.

Days later, the body of the young man, a son of an All Progressives Grand Alliance chieftain in the state, was found dead by the roadside after a ransom had allegedly been paid.

Twitter user shares chat with Fish Magnet

The man identified as @AyamTjay on X (formerly known as Twitter) mourned the death of the popular fish seller.

He said that Fish Magnet told him how to start a fish farm in his backyard and shared a screenshot of their last conversation on TikTok.

The X post read:

“Just heard that Fish Magnet was kidnapped and killed by the kidnappers in Anambra. This is sad to hear. Why are you people like this? This was my last conversation with him when he was telling me how to start a backyard fish farming. May his soul RIP.”

The tweet the man shared about Fish Magnet is below:

Aside from the X user, another businessman on Facebook, Udegbunam Charles Ifeanyi, also mourned the fish farmer and shared what Fish Magnet owed him before his death.

On his Facebook page, Ifeanyi, who was also into fish farming, said he met the late entrepreneur in 2015 and described him as a jolly good fellow.

He said in part:

"Our path crossed in 2015 as Provisions Sellers at Eke Awka market before we later entered into Fish Farming and till your death we were sharing ideals, funds and way forward to better our lives and dat of our family. My mum has cried, prayed and caused your [assailants] and I believe they will not have rest in dis life and their next life.
"Our only crime was struggling and hustling to build something for ourselves in order to survive this harsh economy and bad government. We dey hustle like uneducated youth even when we have our Bsc and other degrees yet they will not allow us to suffer in peace."
