The plane was headed for London’s Gatwick Airport in the United Kingdom with 242 people on board, with only one survivor.
In a post on X, @ShashiTharoor shared three things he observed about his flight and the note he had received from crew members.
Man shares observation about Air India flight
Tharoor, a member of the Indian National Congress, said that while on the flight, he observed the service provided, a surprise note from the team, and the smooth landing.
The man shared a picture of himself and the crew members, alongside a note he got from the team on board, stating that it had been a joy to make use of the airline service.
“The service is outstanding. And the team on my flight to Kochi today not only surprised me with this wonderful note but asked for a photo too! (Thanks, too, to the pilots for the smooth takeoff and landing, marvellous handling in monsoon weather and a ten-minutes early arrival on a wet runway… Shabash to my favourite airline!)”

"You are absolutely right Sir, Air India has been given a bad name after the recent unfortunate accident. We need to move beyond that and ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future."

A month after the crash in Ahmedabad, a preliminary investigation report by India's Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau was released publicly.

Another Air India Passenger shares experience
A man known as Zack on Facebook shared the kind of services he received from Air India weeks after the airline's fatal crash.
He pointed out that, although the plane had no armrest, the bed provided considerable comfort. He added that the menu was also boring.
Despite the shortcomings he shared, he still gave Air India a positive review. In his words:
"A few days ago, I flew Business class with Air India from Delhi to London. I wasn't sure what to expect given the negative reviews. Despite a few shortcomings, such as the lack of armrests and a boring menu, I must say I was pleasantly surprised.
“Suites with highwall sliding doors, great service from FAs, and comfortable beds. I think if Air India can repeat this on all routes, they will be a force to be reckoned with. What do you all think of Air India?”
