A Nigerian woman celebrated as the man she lived with for 13 years finally married her officially.
She stated that they had been courting for 19 years and decided to start living together 13 years ago.

In a TikTok post by @teekay_babe, the woman shared a video of her wedding ceremony.
She also stated that she had welcomed three children during her time with him, expressing excitement that he had finally tied the knot.

“19 years of courtship. 13 years of living as couple but not official. In between having 3 kids, and God decided to make it official a month ago.

In a chat with Legit.ng, a marital coach, Debby Airebanmen-Jegede, shared her opinion on the cohabitation of couples without marital rites.
She said:
"Cohabiting and having children without fulfilling marital rites is a fast-growing trend. It raises concern as it is a breakdown of law and orderliness morally, culturally, and spiritually.
"Life responds to order. Scripturally, a man should LEAVE TO CLEAVE. If he hasn't performed any marital rites before camping with a woman in his house, he's breaking the order. Marriage comes before séx and procreation.
"Meet each other's families. Pay the bride price. Do other marriage rites if you can afford it. Start your own family. Let your love be with order. Marriage is honourable in all and the bed undefiled."
