“Dangote Won't Waste Money Like This,” Nigerian Governor’s Aide Slams Davido over Lavish US Wedding

An aide to the governor of Delta state, Ossai Success Ovie, has stirred a fresh debate in the polity by expressing disappointment at music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, for heading to Miami, Florida, United States, for his white wedding.

Recall that Davido and his wife, Chioma Avril Rowland, had their traditional wedding in June 2025, in Lagos state and are now set to tie the knot the white way this weekend in Miami.
Legit.ng reported that Davido confirmed that he and his wife, Chioma, will have their white wedding in Miami in August 2025.
He made the announcement during an interview on The Breakfast Club, aired on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
But in a post shared on his Facebook page on Thursday, August 7, the governor's aide wrote:
"Davido and Chioma’s white wedding this weekend in Miami is a waste of money and i am disappointed
"Having too much money doesn’t mean you should carelessly spend it.
"Dangote, Ossai Ovie Success , Elon musk and Mark Zuckerberg won’t waste money like this .
"What is the essence of white wedding in Florida when your lavish traditional marriage is over a year.
"I am really disappointed."

Davido’s sis, Chioma update fans about their party
Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigerian singer Davido’s sister, Sharon and his wife, Chioma, have started planning ahead of the Chivido white wedding.
The celebrity couple are getting set to have their white wedding ceremony in August, and some of the party plans have been shared with fans.
Canada-based doctor confirms invitation to Chivido2025
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a Canada-based doctor, ZO, shared a post where he announced that he received an invitation to Davido's white wedding.
This came after Tunde Ednut announced the official date for Davido and Chioma's white wedding ceremony in Atlanta.
The doctor's comment about Chioma and Isreal DMW ignited interesting comments on social media.
Adeleke travels to US for Davido’s wedding
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke, travelled out of Nigeria to attend his nephew, David Adeleke's white wedding in the United States.
Legit.ng reported that Davido tied the knot with his wife, Chioma Rowland, in a glamorous traditional wedding held in Lagos in 2024.
The governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirmed Adeleke’s trip and extended an invitation to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
