A former Nigerian senator, Ibrahim Musa, who represented Niger North Senatorial District from 2011 to 2015, has died.

He passed away in Abuja on Thursday, August 7, after what was described as a brief illness.

Musa was elected under the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and was known as a strong loyalist of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, Leadership reported.

State government confirms his death

The Niger state government confirmed the sad news through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman.

Usman expressed deep sorrow on behalf of the State Government and the people of Niger state, describing Musa’s death as a significant loss to the State and the country.

During his time in the Senate, Musa was respected for his clear positions on national issues and efforts to improve the lives of his constituents.
