Group lauds Tinubu's commitment to north
NPC Convener, Usman Abdullahi, said the Tinubu-Shettima government has brought renewed direction to Northern Nigeria through deliberate policies, inclusion in federal appointments, and massive investments in health, education, infrastructure, and agriculture.
He pointed to a number of strategic reforms, including the allocation of key ministries to Northern technocrats, the establishment of solar-powered learning centers, the expansion of Almajiri education, and the commissioning of a state-of-the-art oncology centre in Katsina.
He said these efforts reflect a commitment to both physical development and human capital.

On student welfare, the coalition cited the National Student Loan Scheme, where Northern students reportedly represent over half of the beneficiaries, receiving more than N45 billion of the N77 billion disbursed.

The initiative is part of broader education reforms being implemented through partnerships with UBEC and the newly created National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education.
Infrastructure investment also featured heavily in the coalition’s endorsement. The Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road, the Sokoto-Badagry Highway, and the Abuja-Lokoja-Benin Road dualisation were cited as transformative.
Dredging of the River Niger and the BUA-funded Bode Saadu-Kaima-Kosubosu Road were also listed as signs of improved regional commerce.
Group urges northerners to support BAT's reelection bid
On the economy, Abdullahi said the removal of fuel subsidy, tax exemptions for small-scale traders, and incentives for agro-processors have collectively opened new opportunities for growth and stability. He warned against reversing course in 2027, calling on the North to avoid political experiments that could derail ongoing reforms.
The coalition proposed the creation of a Northern Women Enterprise Fund, expansion of agro-processing zones, revival of grazing routes, and youth-focused tech hubs as priorities going forward.
“The North is no longer at the margins but firmly part of Nigeria’s governance centre,” Abdullahi said.
He urged traditional institutions, lawmakers, and grassroots leaders to actively promote the continuity of the Tinubu-Shettima agenda for long-term regional progress.
