Several reports had it that Kwam 1 was spotted sipping from a flask after boarding the plane, prompting a flight attendant to question him over concerns it might contain alcohol, banned on flights within Nigeria.

The attendant allegedly requested that he hand over the flask, but the 68-year-old declined, claiming it contained doctor-prescribed medication.
When he persisted in keeping the flask, the airline crew reportedly asked him to leave the aircraft.
Following this, Kwam 1 allegedly left the plane but stayed close to it, reportedly attempting to halt the plane’s departure.
In a video circulated on the internet, the singer was seen in front of the plane while airport officials engaged him in conversation.
The pilot, however, decided to take off, seemingly endangering the lives of the musician and the airport officials, a decision that may have warranted the NCAA sanction.
As the plane taxied, the musician and the airport officials quickly moved out of its way before it could cause any major harm.
The footage sparked public outcry online, with many Nigerians expressing mixed reactions.

In the same vein, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is said to be considering placing Kwam 1 on a no-fly list after his alleged unruly conduct.
Such a ban would be a major blow to the Fuji king, who regularly travels for local and international performances.
Ogundamisi criticises Kwam 1
Sharing his thoughts on the matter, Ogundamisi described the incident as "a dangerously close call" which "could have ended badly".
He wrote on his verified X (formerly Twitter) page on Wednesday, August 6:
“Wasiu Ayinde Adewale Olasunkanmi Omogbolahan Anifowoshe clearly needs help—breaking aviation laws, assaulting an officer, then trying to stop a flight Unhinged. Still, how did the pilots miss this? That was a dangerously close call. Could have ended badly, but KWAM 1 won't learn.”
Kwam 1 and controversies
Legit.ng reports that Kwam 1 is not new to controversies.
In January, while preparing for his late mother’s eight-day Fidau ceremony, incurred the wrought of some Islamic clerics when he used the phrase ‘Ganusi' during a conversation with a man.

Speaking in Yoruba, the singer said, ”Alfas (Muslim clerics) will not go to my father’s house for the party; it’s my house they will ‘Ga’nu sí. We then prayed in my home before returning to my father’s house for the main party.”
His remark was interpreted to imply that Islamic clerics attend religious ceremonies primarily for financial gain, sparking controversy among the Muslim faithful.
Prominent Muslim clerics, including Sheikh Faruq Onikijipa, who delivered a sermon at his mother’s Fidau, disapproved of Kwam 1’s remark and urged him to apologise.
Kwam 1, however, stood his ground, stating that he would not apologise and that an apology would mean admitting he had done something wrong.
Also, he was linked with an illicit affair with Olori Ajoke, one of the wives of the former Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi III (of blessed memory).
The rumours of the alleged relationship between Kwam 1 and the now-late monarch’s wife have been trending on social media for almost two weeks in April 2020. Subsequently, the musician denied the alleged romantic affair.
