Man Calls Off Wedding after Discovering Wife's Secret Affairs with Priest
- Anambra man, Mr. Chibuike Nwandu, cancelled his traditional marriage after discovering that his wife-to-be, was having sexual relationship with a priest
- The traditional marriage was to take place on August 2, but it was swiftly cancelled upon this discovery
- Parishioners interviewed in different parishes in Ukpor, the community where the development reportedly took place, said their priests are not capable of doing such thing
A traditional marriage ceremony that would have taken place on August 2, 2025, was cancelled following a shocking discovery by a groom that his bride-to-be was in an active sexual relationship with a priest.
The cancellation was announced August 1, by the groom, Mr. Chibuike Nwandu.

According to him, the sexual relationship between the bride-to-be and her "Reverend Father" was still active, even after he had done introduction ceremony as part of the traditional marriage rites.
According to a reliable source, his marriage should have taken place on August 2, 2025, but it was cancelled because, the groom discovered that the bride was still in an active sexual relationship with her Rev. Father, even after the introduction was done.

All was set for traditional wedding
Legit.ng reliably gathered that Nwandu, who hails from Osumenyi in Nnewi South local government area of the state, printed invitation cards for the wedding, but that he later called the marriage off.
The traditional marriage, it was gathered, was to take place at the family compound of the bride-to-be at Ebe village in Ukpor, Nnewi South local government area of the state.
Although, the identity of said Reverend Father was not revealed, yet, many people indicate that the cleric is a parish priest at one of the Catholic churches in Ukpor. Name of the suspected priest also recently began to trend on social media, with many people calling him out, condemning his act as sacrilegious, and calling on higher church authorities to investigate, defrock and laicize him if found guilty.
Groom lambasts church
When Legit.ng contacted the groom to seek further details on the marriage cancelation, he confirmed the development, and said:
"I feel sorry for people who are still going to church, because, there is no moral to learn there."

Efforts by Legit.ng correspondent to contact the bride to have her own side of the story was not successful.
Efforts to speak with the Catholic bishop of Nnewi diocese, Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye, over the development, was also unsuccessful.
Legit.ng correspondent also visited some parish churches within Ukpor, where the incident reportedly took place, to sample opinion of parishioners; including St. Mary Mother of God Parish, Ukpor; Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary's Parish, St. Peter Claver's Parish, Holy Family Parish, St. Jude's Parish and St. Patrick's Parish.
Some parishioners interviewed by Legit.ng correspondent denied knowledge of the development, but others who said they heard about the issue, said that such thing did not take place in their parishes, as their parish priests were not known for such act.
Kano man arrested for lewd act with goat
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a 24-year-old resident of Dawakin Kudu in Kano State, identified as Shamsu Yakubu, had been arrested by operatives of the Kano State Hisbah Board following the emergence of a disturbing video showing him engaging in an obscene act involving a she-goat.
The footage, which quickly spread across social media platforms—particularly TikTok—showed Shamsu performing an explicit act with the animal while instructing an unseen individual to record him.
