The announcement, conveyed in a statement by Shuaibu Abdullahi, media aide to the Secretary to the State Government, highlighted Gadaka’s diverse background across politics, banking, and traditional leadership.
Gadaka's rich history
A former federal lawmaker, Gadaka represented Fika/Fune Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019.
Earlier, between 2007 and 2010, he served as a commissioner in the Yobe State Government, where he played a role in policy implementation and local development initiatives.
Beyond his political engagements, Gadaka is recognised for his experience in the banking sector, having worked with United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Standard Trust Bank, where he rose to the position of Business Manager.
His blend of financial expertise and administrative skill is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the traditional institution.
Currently, Gadaka chairs the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education, Yawuri, Kebbi State, as well as the Yobe State Local Government Project Monitoring and Evaluation Committee, both roles he has held since 2024.
These responsibilities have further strengthened his reputation for leadership and commitment to public service.
Until his elevation as Emir, he bore the title of Yariman Gudi, reflecting his longstanding connection to the Emirate’s cultural and historical legacy.
Governor Buni expressed optimism about Gadaka’s appointment, stating confidence in his ability to “uphold the values of the Gudi Emirate and contribute meaningfully to the peace, unity, and development of Yobe State.”
The new Emir is now tasked with leading the Emirate through a period of continuity and modern challenges, blending tradition with progressive governance.
