Security Man Discloses Instructions Fish Magnet Gave Him Days Before Murder

Security man attached to the popular Fish Barbeque owned by Mr. Onyekachi Martins Onyekesi, the young "Fish Magnet" killed recently by unknown gunmen, has voiced out the instructions his "Oga" gave him hours before he was murdered.

Onyekachi, only son of the current Anambra State Woman Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was killed recently by suspected assassins in Awka, in a manner that sent shocking waves to the entire state.

The victim, Martins Onyekesi, owns a popular eatery known as Fish Barbeque at Vallys Mini Eatery, opposite the prison quarters in Amawbia, Awka, near the Airtel office, where they offer on-the-spot and home delivery services.

But last week, unknown gunmen overtook him after he visited his father that fateful night, shot him, and took him away to an unknown destination.

Legit.ng learnt that the assailants later contacted his mother, Mrs. Esther Onyekesi, directing her to retrieve the lifeless body of her son at Amawbia, near Awka capital city, where the body was later found with gunshot wounds.

Meanwhile, a security man serving at the eatery, who gave his name simply as Ben, disclosed an instruction given to him by his master, Mr. Onyekachi, some hours before he was killed.

In an exclusive chat with Legit.ng correspondent, Mr. Ben said that he suspected that his Oga, Onyekachi, foresaw his death but did not know when, or how it would come.

"Honestly, Bros, my Oga saw his death coming. I cannot say for sure that he knew when the death will come or how it will come, but I believe that he saw it coming," he said.

"Do you know why I say so? About two days before we heard that he was kidnapped and killed, he called me inside his office. He told me something. He told me he had a dream where two girls entered his office with weapons - one of them was stabbing him with knife, the other was shooting him with gun.
"He told me that he did not die in the dream after the attack, but that he needed to be very careful, as he did not have such fearful dream since he was born.
"He gave me that thing they use to check whether somebody carry gun or weapon, and told me to check anybody that enters the eatery. He said if anybody did not allow me check him, I must not allow him to enter, unless he was not in the office, that was the only time I may not check everybody.

"This thing is happening like two days before he was kidnapped. That very day that they kidnapped him, he left office early. He could not do much work in the office. He did not join these people to prepare fish as he used to do. He left earlier than he used to leave.
"It was the following morning that we heard that he was kidnapped, and they demanded for ransom. We thought he would just pay ransom and come back. Next thing we heard was that he was killed after the ransom," he concluded.

When asked whether the "Fish Magnet" told him and other workers about any threat from anyone that might give insight into what happened, the security man said no.

He said the only thing Mr. Onyekachi used to tell them, though not with seriousness, was that people in the same business he was doing used to be jealous of his prosperity because of the way he was doing his own business

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko had joined those mourning Fish Magnet's death.

The film star, who stated that the businessman's death was painful to her, described him as a hardworking and promising person.

Etiko stated that the incident had left her anxious and called on the government to intervene in what had become a nightmare.
