Tension As Cow Attacks, Injures Staff at Govt House in Delta
- A chaotic scene erupted at the government house in Asaba, Delta state, when a cow, intended for slaughter, went rogue and attacked several individuals
- Reports making the rounds on Saturday, August 2, revealed that the butchers who were supposed to slaughter the cow fled the scene, leaving at least two staff members injured
- A cook identified as Peter, who sustained minor injuries, disclosed that the staff member who was severely injured is currently battling for his life at the emergency unit of the government house clinic

Tension erupted at the government house in Asaba, Delta state capital at the weekend when a cow attacked a staff member, causing panic among workers.

The cow, which was meant for slaughter, went on a rampage and injured several people.
As reported by The Guardian, one of the victims, a man aged 30, who attempted to subdue the animal, was severely injured after being knocked down and was immediately rushed to the emergency unit of the government house clinic.
Confirming the development, a source revealed that the victim sustained deep wounds on his thighs.
He said:
“Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to an undisclosed hospital where he is currently battling for his life.”

Cook sustains injury
Speaking further, the source noted that another victim, identified as Peter, a cook at the Government House, also sustained injuries.
“The first two butchers called to slaughter the cow were unable to handle it and fled the scene. The critically injured victim was reportedly the second person called to take over the task,” the source disclosed.
As of the time of filing this report, the Government House had yet to issue an official statement.
Kwara: Bandits steal over 100 cows in fresh attacks
Legit.ng earlier reported that armed bandits launched deadly raids in Kwara state’s Patigi and Edu LGAs, killing three vigilantes, injuring security operatives, and rustling over 100 cows.
Amid the violence, kidnappers freed a popular trader after a N7 million ransom, while others remain in captivity.
In response, the Kwara state government plans to deploy army units and forest guards for sustained operations to reclaim the crime-ridden forests.
Thunder strikes kill 32 cows in Ogun
In another development, Legit.ng reported that about 32 cows were killed in the Odeda LGA of Ogun state following a heavy rainfall.
The affected cows were reportedly owned by both the Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba communities in the area.
The Baale of Osara, Wasiu Afolabi, and the commissioner of police, Lanre Ogunlowo, confirmed the bizarre incident.

Wandering elephant kills farmer in Ogun
In a similar development, Legit.ng reported that wild elephant escaped from a government reserved forest, attacked and killed a farmer identified as Musa Kalamu.
The tragic incident occurred at Imobi community in the Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun state.
The commissioner of police, Lanre Ogunlowo, narrated how the unfortunate incident occurred in the south west state.
