Tinubu gives employment to physically challenged persons

In the same vein, Vanguard reported that President Tinubu also showed empathy to physically challenged persons, who were former corps members who sustained different degrees of disability during their service year.

The president directed that the physically challenged persons should be given direct employment in the federal civil service, while assuring them that the government will never forget them.

The President assured the honorees that the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission would immediately begin their employment process.

The awardees will receive several benefits, including automatic employment, cash awards, and scholarships to pursue postgraduate degrees at any Nigerian university. Each awardee will receive N250,000, and the scholarship will cover postgraduate programs up to a degree in any university in the country.

Tinubu, who was represented by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, emphasised his administration's commitment to youth empowerment, highlighting various youth-related programs covering education, skills development, technology, and information sustainability. He urged the honorees and Nigerian youths to have faith in Nigeria and not yield to those seeking to destabilise the nation.

Tinubu honours best NYSC members

The ceremony recognised the best overall performers among both male and female awardees. The top four male awardees were Nunaya Polycarp Nunaya, Okpogbo Alvin Chinedu, Dr. Ugwa Obinna Mark, and Rabiu Quadri Mayokun. The best overall female awardees were Akase Pati Ence Nguwas of Benue State and Igwe Anne Chikaodi of Enugu State.

Speaking at the event was the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, who commended Tinubu's commitment to the future of Nigerian youth. He highlighted the records of the president in supporting youth development initiatives

Olawande further affirmed that the federal government is dedicated to empowering the youth with several startup programmes, job creation and big leadership opportunities for them.
