Soldiers Nab Suspected Terrorists from Niger Republic, Kill Several Others

A credible source revealed that the inability of suspect to speak any Nigerian language had prompted further investigations into possible transnational ties, as reported by The Punch.

Legit.ng gathered that the troops also successfully neutralised multiple terrorists, arrested several others, and rescued victims in a series of operations across different regions.

The source revealed that the operation was conducted by troops of 120 Task Force Battalion in Katarko, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe.

The source further revealed that a woman and a child, relatives of terrorists, voluntarily surrendered to troops in Bama, Borno state, after escaping from the Churchur axis.

The military source attributed the development to continued pressure on insurgent hideouts.

In another development in Sokoto State, troops neutralised two armed men in a fierce shootout in Sabon Birni Local Government Area, specifically in Tsamaye and Mai Lalle.

He said that three AK-47 rifles and a motorcycle were recovered from the scene.

In Kebbi State, he said the troops of 1 Battalion Rear intercepted a cattle rustling attempt in Sauna Village, Argungu Local Government Area.

According to him, the rustlers abandoned 251 cows and fled, and the animals were recovered and returned to their owners.

Troops of the 323 Artillery Regiment, based in Igbara-Oke, Ifedore Local Government Area in Ondo State, foiled an arms deal by arresting two suspected gunrunners trying to buy weapons.

Troops kill 24 Boko Haram terrorists

Legit.ng previously reported that the troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed 24 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists and recovered weapons during the criminals during offensive operations between 4 - 9 July 2025, across the North East region of the country.

The operations were carried out in close air support from the Air Component and in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force and hunters.

The troops killed three terrorists on bicycles moving from the Sambisa Forest axis to the Timbuktu Triangle on 4 July 2025.

NAF bombed military strongholds in Borno

Legit.ng also reported that the troops of Operation Hadin Kai and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have bombed key terrorist strongholds nestled in the Mandara Mountains located in Borno State.

The operation was carried out by the air component on the mountain-covered terrain along Nigeria’s border with Cameroon following a confirmatory intelligence.

It was gathered that the clearance operation came less than 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu directed the military to clear all enemies threatening the country.

NAF spokesperson, Ehimen Ejodame, said the troops’ surveillance and reconnaissance missions gave signs that the insurgents were preparing for a coordinated attack.
