Tinubu revealed how the intensity of the WAFCON final match made his wife abandon her cooking to watch the Super Falcons fight their way to victory.
As reported by The Punch, Tinubu stated this while speaking during a reception held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to honour the triumphant Super Falcons on Monday, July 28, 2025.
“Honestly, I didn’t want to watch the match. I didn’t want to have high blood pressure,” the President said. "But they turned on the television. When it was 2-0, I got offended and restless.”
Tinubu said his wife abandoned his dinner because she was watching the Super Falcons.
According to Tinubu, his wife doesn’t watch football except when it involves the Nigerian female team.
“You almost made me angrier because your mother, the First Lady, was in the kitchen, nearly abandoning my dinner. She doesn’t watch football – except when the girls are playing. And at the final whistle, it was joy all over the country.”
