Nigerian celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, is cooking up history once more.
Barely two years after her record-breaking 100-hour Cook-a-thon that made global headlines, Hilda is back with a challenge even bigger.
On Friday, September 12, 2025, the chef will attempt to cook what she calls the largest pot of Jollof rice ever made, in partnership with popular culinary brand, Gino.

Announcing the project via Instagram, Hilda said the feat has been on her mind for almost two years.
She stated:
“Almost two years ago I had the dream to cook the largest pot of Jollof Rice ever made. And now, with ginonaija and YOU, that dream is coming alive."
The pot, according to her, will measure six metres wide and six metres tall, a size that has left many fans stunned at the scale of the challenge.
In a video shared alongside her post, Hilda described the challenge as a cultural celebration of West Africa’s most iconic dish.
She said:
“This year, it’s Jollof, the heartbeat of West Africa. A taste that tells our story. It’s more than cooking. It’s a celebration of our food, our culture, music and us"
She added that she wanted Nigerians and Africans to see themselves reflected in the boldness of the project.

Davido's ex-lawyer reacts to Hilda pepper soup drama
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that singer David ‘Davido’ Adeleke’s former lawyer, Bobo Ajudua, joined the trending discussion about the N6k pepper soup from Hilda Baci’s restaurant. On his official X page, Bobo expressed amusement at the customer’s plight.
According to him, the aggrieved lady should go and do her research on the top 10 most expensive places in Nigeria.
In a follow-up post, the public figure told the customer to either hold her N6k, stay at home and manage, or look for a local mama put if she wants pepper soup.
