Popular Kannywood actor Ali Nuhu has reacted to rumours about his death that recently went viral on social media.

Ali Nuhu, who reshared a statement from the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), debunked the reports making the rounds online that its Director and Chief Executive had passed away.

In a statement signed by the regulatory agency’s director of Public Affairs, Brian Etuk, the NFC stated that Ali was hale and hearty, discharging the responsibilities of the office of the NFC’s Chief Executive.

“NFC wishes to draw the attention of the perpetrators of these uncouth and dastardly acts, including their sponsors, to the dire and unmistakable consequences of their actions, no matter the innocuousness of their intent,” the statement read in part.

The corporation added that appropriate measures have been initiated to arrest this ugly, baleful, and unsatisfactory conduct and trend.

It described the fake news as not only malicious and injurious but also false in its entirety.

NFC also appreciated the genuine concerns expressed by the public, private, and public sector stakeholders.

Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, the board's information officer, stated that the decision was made in response to concerns regarding the actress' "revealing dress and provocative videos."
