Popular indigenous singer and songwriter Alexander Adegbola Akande, better known as 9ice, has caused a buzz on social media with a video where he exposed the spiritual side of the music industry and his near‑death experience.

9ice, who was a guest on The Nancy Isime Show, declared that the devil was in charge of the music industry.

Describing the devils as the true 'chormaster of music, the Gongo Aso crooner the devil as the true “choirmaster” of music, warned aspiring artistes to be spiritually fortified before joining the industry.

In his words,

“The devil controls music. The devil is the choirmaster. That’s why we smoke and do all the things we do.”

How 9ice vomitted bloood for 6 months

When Nancy Isime asked 9ice if he ever faced spiritual battles in music, the singer recounted his terrifying experience from 2009/2010, where he claimed he vomitted blood for six months.

9ice disclosed that he got his healing he was referred to an ifa priest.

The singer, who said he is neither a Christian nor a Muslim, but a heathen, added that he regrets not becoming a traditionalist earlier on.

Recounting experience, 9ice said, “When I was vomiting blood for about six months in my own house. I had to leave my house. It happened in 2009/2010. It wasn’t a medical condition.”
