Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has finally reacted after social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), denied receiving financial support from him.
The mild exchange began after VDM stated in a viral video that, contrary to public belief, Davido never paid for his hotel or flight during their notable linkup in Lagos.

According to VDM, many critics often weaponise this assumption to discredit him whenever he speaks about Davido, especially when his opinions don’t align with fan narratives.
He insisted that he received no form of sponsorship from the singer during that time.
In light of this, Davido briefly responded on Instagram with a now-deleted comment.
In a calm but pointed message, he wrote:
“VDM, if you like, abuse my whole life; I no fit fight you.”
VDM also replied publicly, stating that his comments aren’t insults, but rather an attempt to correct a recurring public misconception.
He wrote:
“@davido SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT. If you see it as an insult, the aluta continua. Love always from my end (I no be anybody’s boy still)! RATEL”
